We are working on the new record. We have 13 songs worth of drums recorded...8 songs have bass and rhythm guitar. Unfortunately we must work at a very slow pace...12 hours a week due to my responsibilities as dad of a 18 month old. We started recording in July, but we had to learn a lot in a short amount of time....We purchased a Tascam 388 tape machine and we had a lot of trial and error in the beginning...some songs drums were recorded and scrapped 3 times until we could get that sound we desire out of this limited machine. Last year, starting in October 2016, we recorded one song at The Bubble with Frenchie...that was digitally captured on his RADAR system, and we did the guitars at our friends' ranch on the edge of town. We had assumed we would do the whole album there, but things didn't work out...we made a few demos though, and then we found ourselves back where "Pure Mood" was created, in a storage shed out near Pflugerville and Manor near the Samsung Semiconductor. Anyway, we used to work 12 hours a day but now it is 12 hours a week, and we could not have anticipated this pace...its all new to me as a dad and new to me as being the one responsible for this analog recording. I was sick of looking at the computer screen and using a mouse, and I have wanted to record on tape again for a while (most of the songs on Sparkler were partially recorded on 2'' tape). We are eager to reveal this record to the world, but we will be sure to take the time to get it right and stuff. Happy Holidays y'all!
